Every other month members of Grace receive a packet of
offering envelopes through the mail. It is important to know that throughout the
year there are three types of envelopes in the offering packets.
I. WEEKLY ENVELOPES: Our Congregation, Capital
Improvements, ELCA Benevolence, St. Mary’s Hope
Our Congregation: Offering money used here
equips our congregation for ministry. Offering money pays for staff salaries,
building maintenance costs and programming expenses. (Programming expenses
include: education materials, worship materials, Good News of Grace mailings, etc.)
Capital Improvements: Offering money used here
helps to defray major building needs, including renovation work.
ELCA Benevolence: Grace Lutheran Church is a
member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
Offering money used here supports the work of the larger church including new
mission developments, seminary education, etc.
St. Mary’s Hope: St. Mary’s is a sister
congregation of Grace Lutheran Church. It is located in Chicago, IL. Our
financial assistance to this Latino congregation helps pay for their pastoral
staff as well as programmatic needs.
New Ministries Appeal: In the year 2001, Grace
Lutheran Church held a major fund drive to support the development of new
ministries at Grace and in the larger community. This pledge drive asked
people to give above and beyond their regular financial support to
Grace. Funds from this drive will soon be used to hire a Parish Nurse and a
Director of Youth and Family Ministry. Additional monies will help support the
development of Latino ministry in Green Bay, and pay for the training of a
prison chaplain.

Kilgust’s ministry at Grace.

We publish this information in response to several
questions we have heard about "Where do our offerings go?" We hope this is
helpful! Any further questions or suggestions may be directed to the Church
