The Madrigal Dynners, at Grace Lutheran Church, are Dedicated to the Glory of God. It is our pleasure to share with you, through songs of the season, the Good News of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Welcome, Gentlefolke! ("Click" on small pictures to enlarge. Then go "back.") The annual Madrigal Dynners held at the Court of Grace in November attempt to capture the flavoure, the pageantry and the fellowship of the early 16th and 17th century madrigal feasts. Madrigal singing, brought to England from Italy in the 16th century, was at first an informal type of private entertaynemente at the castle and country homes of the landed gentry. Naturally, during the Twelve Days of the Christemasse season, there was much entertayning and synging of madrigals.
Ye Christmasse Entertaynemente To sing songs of joy and gladness on the Holy Night of our Savior's Birth is a practiss the wycche has lasted for centuries. In Merrie Aulde England of good Queen Bess, the lords and ladies founde great delight in perfourmynge the music themselves as they dined in the Great Hall. We wish you and your families a blessed Christemasse season filled with joy and peace.
